National Geographic wrote an article that grasps your soul... "Their images remind us that a photograph has the power to do infinitely more than document. It can transport us to unseen worlds." Photography has the power to express so many different emotions. When a little girl sees her father walk off the airplane from his time of service overseas, that exuberant smile and happiness can be captured in a photo. Those moments are inspirational to humanity. But when you see a picture of a little boy is covered in rags and his bones poke through his skin, people's hearts throb. Seeing that photo is painful and it evokes a feeling of sympathy so strong that it has the ability to change lives. Do you think photography can be powerful? The beauty of photography is its ability to allow us to learn, without directly experiencing, lessons about losing loved ones, love, leadership, conflict, etc. Photography challenges you to go beyond the surface, beyond that one perspective. It urges you to stand out. But no matter what, all of us have our own voice. We construct our own vision that creates unique images. Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God states, "There is a depth of thought untouched by words." Pictures lead us to so many dimensions of understanding that is too difficult to express through pen and paper. Find the lessons you can take away from photography. My philosophy is overcompensation. Don’t be afraid of stretching it too far. I encourage you to look deeper, see deeper, and think deeper. What does this picture represent to you? Have you ever felt hopeless or lonely? Look up and find the light above you. Turn around and find the person ready to help you.
Here's to you and your open mind! May photography be your window.

I am very familiar with your work. There was always something about your pictures that captured my heart. Your photography captures a raw beauty in things that many people overlook. “A picture is worth a thousand words” is such a true statement. I believe you show this perfectly in your blog. As you state in your blog, “Photography has the power to express so many different emotions.” The emotions and the messages that is captured in an image is something that can only be described in a thousand words. I love how you included your own photography to help make this click for your audience. By adding your own pictures, it adds to the purpose of your blog which is to show the world your pictures. The images you use are so perfect because they clearly show the idea of a deeper meaning. You explain their meaning in such a clear way for the reader which help bring your argument to full understanding.
